Four More Finial Vessels With A Twist

These four vessel pots are made of 5 to 6 stacked up sections. They range from about 1 foot tall to 2.5 feet tall. The new part is how they were cut open. Instead of precise cuts with a sharp knife, these were cut wile spinning on the potters wheel. The new look reminds me of some of the desert rock formations here in eastern Utah.

Each of these are stacked pots containing up to 10 sections. They all are unglazed clay and average 3 to 4 feet in height.

The Mud Show represents the end of a semesters worth of work, and more importantly the end of one thought and the beginning of 100 more.

Pre Mud Show Pottery

With these pots I was experimenting with different forms and ideas in preparing for the up coming "Mud Show".
